Spot details near the cut
The red line shows the planned cut. Keep names, numbers, logos, and borders inside the green line.
The sample shows spacing only. The check cannot edit or submit your artwork.
A little help, whenever you need it.
Plain explanations make the print terms easier to follow.
New to printing? Explain the lines simply
- Red dashed line: where we cut
- Everything outside this line is spare paper. It gets cut off.
- Green line: room to protect important details
- Keep whole names, numbers, logos, and small borders inside it. The cutter can shift a little, so leaving space helps protect them.
- Bleed: extra background that gets cut off
- Let your background reach the outside page edge. This helps avoid a thin white edge if the cut shifts.
- Yellow highlight: something to look at
- It is a rough outline of text that may be too close to the edge. Look at the actual letters before deciding what to move.
Remember: important details stay in; background goes out.
What size should I save?
The finished card is 2.5 × 3.5 in. Save your print copy (called an “export”) at 2.75 × 3.75 in, including the spare background we cut off. Swap those dimensions for sideways cards.
Keep important details at least 1/4 in from that page’s outside edge. Use sharp original images at 300 pixels per inch or more.
