Project overview
The Pepperdine Waves baseball program wanted to create something special for the 2026 team — a collectible keepsake for players, and something fun to share with fans during home games.
The final project became a full team trading card set featuring the entire 38-player roster along with a checklist card for the series. Each player received their own card featuring their photo and player details.
The full print run of 9,750 cards was packaged into foil trading card packs that were given to the team and used as a promotional giveaway at Pepperdine home games — players kept a set from the season, while fans opened packs to discover players from the roster.

The packaging experience
The cards were packaged in foil trading card packs inspired by classic sports card releases. Each pack contains 10 random player cards from the 38-card roster along with 1 checklist card.
Across a print run of 9,750 cards, Pepperdine used the packs two ways: full sets were given to players as a season keepsake, and additional packs were distributed during home games as a promotional giveaway for fans. The pack format adds excitement while turning the roster into something collectible and fun to open.
